The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, also called the Albuquerque Balloon Festival, runs from October 3 to October 11, 2026. It’s the largest hot air ballooning event in the world, and is said to be the most photographed event on earth. Each October, hundreds of balloonists and thousands of tourists from around the world converge on Albuquerque, New Mexico for nine days of mass ascensions, gas balloon races, balloon glows, balloon competitions, and more. If you need a relaxing break from the crowds, we recommend afternoon tea at the St. James Tearoom while you are in Albuquerque.
